What Kind Of Weather To Expect In Phoenix
    by Wayne Hemrick

No matter where you live in Phoenix, you will be constantly amazed by the local weather. When you make a purchase of Phoenix, Arizona real estate with the help of a successful Phoenix real estate agent, you will have the help you need to move into the best home for you. What to expect from the weather will play a part in how you spend your time in this delightful city.

Generally speaking, one could describe the weather in Phoenix in one word: warm. With January averages at 53 degrees and July topping out around 93 degrees, you'll find many days of "shorts and tee shirt" weather in Phoenix. The year-round average temperature is a pleasant 72 degrees, however. Your friends in Fargo, North Dakota and St. Cloud, Minnesota will undoubtedly be jealous by this fact, because their average is a chilly 41 degrees. The average temperature in Phoenix is comparable to that found in Ft. Myers, Florida, which averages 74 degrees; Honolulu, Hawaii, coming in at a balmy 77 degrees, as does Key West, Florida.

You can also rely on many clear and cloud-free days in Phoenix. Two-thirds of the days of the year will be clear and crisp. This is a great feature for amateur astronomers, who require clear skies for proper telescope use, but it also applies to anyone who enjoys looking out their front door at night to enjoy the night sky.

As you might expect with all of this warm weather, it tends to be on the dry side in Phoenix. With an average annual amount of rainfall measuring in at 7.7 inches, you will discover that the most rain falls in August, surprisingly, and December, while the driest months occur in May and June. What this means is that outdoor activities, such as hiking or golfing, are easy to participate in year round in the mild climate found here.

The relative humidity also remains at a pleasant level. When considering Phoenix AZ real estate remember, late summer through winter and spring are when the humidity is at its highest, while it is low in late spring and early summer. This is a very important aspect in considering how comfortable you feel when you are out and about. Cities on the East Coast, especially in the summertime, tend to be plagued with high humidity. For example, Key West, Florida has an average relative humidity of 80 percent. Along with hot summer temperatures, it makes for an unpleasant, sticky and sweaty time if you wish to go for a run or even just walk around town running errands. This tends to not be as much of a problem in Phoenix where, although it is hot, the heat is drier.
